How did you get started?
I started training 3-4 years ago when I recovered from Liver Cirrhosis, I was in coma,I was hospitalized for few months and after that I was bed ridden for a very long time and I could only eat very selected amount of food with just less than 1 lt of liquid a day, that was the most horrible time of my life. All that left me really weak physically & mentally and underweight. I have always been naturally skinny but this was something I did not feel happy with, so I decided to start training and promised myself to live a healthy life. Dealing with an acute illness at such a young age taught me a lesson for life. I never take my health for granted now.
Where does your motivation come from?
After 6 months of workout I started seeing changes in my body and that made me feel more confident day by day. I think this is what keeps me going. I have a goal set in my mind and ill do anything to reach it.
How do you feel your flexibility helps you both in and out of the gym?
It really balance me out both physically & mentally and prevents any kind of injuries that might happen.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
Mix for cardio like swimming & skipping and weight training.
If you had to pick only 3 exercises what would they be and why?
Pushup & Pull ups because these exercises cover your whole upper body, they are low impact exercise and you can do it anywhere you want. Adding a bit of variation is good as well. These both exercises gets my heart racing.
Squats- As its relatively simple to perform, requires no equipment, and can be done just about anywhere. Squats are often regarded as leg exercises, they actually offer benefits throughout your entire body, including deep within your core. One of the most time-efficient ways to burn more calories is actually to gain more muscle!
What is your diet like?
Maintaining my portions, High protein low carb diet, eating healthy fats like nuts. Aim to drink 3-4 litres of water a day followed by multivitamin supplements.
What’s the one food you couldn’t live without, and how do you handle food cravings?
I absolutely love double ringer chicken burger or chicken wraps haha so yeah I treat myself once in 2 weeks with it. It helps me follow my diet for the rest of the time.
