My weight used to be 68 kilos and I’m now 49, I’m 5’3″ and 23 years old!
How did you get started?
used to be a normal girl, weighing 68 kilos, quite heavy for my height, a girl who was insecure in every way, the way I looked, the way others looked at me or treated me. I always used to think I am nothing, nobody will ever notice me or I will never make a mark in this world. Though I’m talented, I never took a step to prove myself in anything back then , because of my huge lack of confidence and low self esteem. Back home too, nobody encourages me for anything other than my studies, so it was quite hard for me to make something great outta my life.
But one fine day , my boy ,@chiranjv, who was into fitness and keen about it, advised and encouraged me to do something and get in shape. Disinterested at first, later decided to do something about it, I started working out with my then new found friend @bgirlsaga who is now my bestie. Everyday, for around 2 hours, frm push ups to squats and what not, acompanied by a super strict diet which we composed ourselves. And from then on there’s no looking back, here I am now, participating in various fitness competitions and started modelling as well, surprisingly I came out to be doing it quite well!
Where does your motivation come from?
It’s mostly me. I motivate myself, I literally tell myself in the mind everyday, how if I don’t keep my consistency, how much I’m gonna lag behind and get farther away from reaching my goals. Basically cause my parents absolutely don’t encourage me on this fit journey!
It’s always been my brothers!(first cousins) Shamanth and vivek whom I mentioned about earlier, my super constant support system chiru (Chiranjeevi) and my sister(sinchana)!
And MY TRAINERS are the best I could get ( Harish sir, John sir, Satish sir , Roopa m’am and Santosh sir ) at Rashtrothana fitness center
Many women and men I follow on social media who believe in fitness and live a fit life , too motivate me!
How do you feel your flexibility helps you both in and out of the gym?
Honestly, not everyone gets to be flexible, only the ones who work for it, eventually achieve it!:) so that by itself is a super power. My flexibility at gym helps me immensely. I’ve seen myself improve in every single aspect inside gym and out! I couldn’t even stretch right, in the beginning and now I’ve reached a stage where I’m 10cm away from the ground for a full split 😀
It helps me feel that my body is getting better and better day by day. And that’s something that keeps me going all the time!
What workout routine has worked best for you?
For my weight loss phase, what helped me best was HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me! Combination of high intensity cardio and strength moves in a fixed period of time always work well!
After having my experience with cardio and strength, I realized that my love lies in weight training. My love for muscle is just too much! the beauty of it just amazes me!
So right now I’m concentrating mostly on weight training and also cardio once or twice in a week to balance it out.
If you had to pick only 3 exercises what would they be and why?
Barbell squats , bicep curls and deadlifts , simply cause I love the way these moves work on my muscles and the way it gives me good results !
What’s the one food you couldn’t live without, and how do you handle food cravings?
Chicken!!! It’s like I have to include it in my diet or I’m not satisfied. I love the benefits it has!
I also love chocolates 😛 and I must tell you ,it’s extremely hard to avoid them cause I’m a major sweet tooth -_- but I do manage to keep myself away from it as sugar curbs muscle gain and I love muscle more than chocolate! So ya:P
What’s something not many people know about you?
All I care about is like 3 people and my carbs just kidding!
To be honest, I’m actually a lazy person, and sometimes I end up skipping gym ,later I have to complete two workout sessions in a daybut mostly I’m a regular at the gym, it’s like my second home, if I miss even a day ,I feel so damn restless and annoyed! I have the best trainers and they support me all the time, that’s my strength!
And apart from gym, I’m an artist, I love sketching and painting a lot! Being an architecture student, I had my share of indulging in sessions of hand drafting, sketching, hand rendering,painting and my love for it continues!
I also work as a professional model, honestly speaking, fitness gave me everything, it gave me confidence, body positivity, strength, it gave me a chiseled face with sharp features which I didn’t even know I had before! And a body that I’m proud of!
Over all as a person, I’ve had a tremendous growth. And this helped me find my passion in modelling too! So now I’m moving ahead looking forward to a career in fitness and modelling. I believe in doing what I love and what I’m passionate about, cause it gives me happiness and satisfaction! And that’s what I need in my life:)
